If you are like me,  it felt like this year began in a slow and groggy slumber and now is clipping along like a wild mustang! Whew!  Lots to share and celebrate and I would love to hear from you too! How are you inspired?  What are the small things that make a difference in your day?

Here we are people!  20! (TWENTY!) years ago I made my first blob of molten glass that sent me on a trajectory and journey that I could never have imagined. So many friends, collaborators, teachers, mentors, and experiences around the world have been connected by a thread of glass.

Now I am heading out for a new adventure (!) I have been invited to be the Featured Artist of GlassFest 2017 in Corning, NY, known as the “Crystal City” for all its history in glassmaking. What an honor!!

GlassFest is a 4-day celebration of this magical material that is molten liquid at 2100F and formed by fire and a willingness to be humbled.

I am THRILLED to have the opportunity to deliver and install 8  illuminated  glassworks to sparkle in multiple window fronts of the incredible Gaffer District of Corning.  Market Street will glow with Illuminata creations during the festival with a planned artwalk during the opening night of celebration. You can follow along the events on the Gaffer District’s nifty website of events or come see me in NY!

Thursday May 25 @ 5pm: Ribbon cutting ceremony at the Corning Museum of Glass (which is an actual cutting of hot glass ribbon!)

Thursday May 25 @ 8pm: Illuminata progressive art stroll with map

Friday 26 May @130pm & Saturday 27 May @4pm: Glassblowing demos @ Vitrix Studios Corning
